There is a discussion going on at Talk:Charyapada that could use some support if anyone has expertise in ancient Tantric Buddhist literature and wants to help out. Manuductive (talk) 14:23, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Help Verifying Notability of Santikaro (Buddhist Teacher)

[edit]

Hello! I'm working on a draft Wikipedia article about '''Santikaro''' – an American Buddhist teacher, translator of Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, and founder of Kevala Retreat. The draft was declined with the note that it lacks sufficient ''significant coverage'' in reliable, independent, secondary sources.

I'm reaching out to ask for help identifying sources that might support notability – especially those that provide more than just a passing mention. Specifically, I'm looking for:

  • Academic or Buddhist studies publications that discuss his work
  • Media coverage of his teachings, translations, or role in Western Buddhism
  • Reviews or discussions of his translations of Buddhadasa
  • Biographical features or in-depth interviews in reliable outlets

So far, I’ve located some retreat center bios, brief mentions on Buddhist websites, and a few podcast appearances. However, these don’t meet the threshold for secondary sources that are both ''independent'' and show ''significant coverage''.

If anyone is aware of any qualifying sources – or has suggestions on where to look – I’d be very grateful!

The draft can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Santikaro

Thanks in advance! Peaceful-D (talk) 15:24, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
